Jerome State Historic Park

The Jerome State Historic Park is open 8am to 5pm everyday except Christmas. It is located in the Douglas Mansion built in 1916 by James Douglas the owner of the Little Daisy mine, one of the most prosperous mines in the era. Douglas designed the mansion to accommodate and entertain visiting mining officials and investors and was reportedly a gracious and generous host.

Inside are maps, ore samples and the story of the town. On the second floor, the 3D model of the town with the tunnels beneath it merits the trip. The park shows a video of the history of Jerome continuously all day, and each month features a different additional video. Viewing is free with your admission to the park.

The park is highly recommended as it gives a great overview of how and why Jerome existed as one of the most significant communities in Arizona in the early 1900’s.
